I KNOW FOR A FACT that there is a slow encroachment of our sensibilities, a push to more extremes, and this obviously numbs people to less extreme stuff. It's a death by a thousand cuts kinda thing, it's a massive collection of factors from all across our culture. This is why you can't make a study on it, you won't find any statistically significant and direct connection between one specific form of media and specific acts of violence. But you all know this innately, you're lying to yourself if you're claiming there isn't a wide spread negative effect from increasing the levels of violence in mass media. You can't use the excuse of Shakespeare or Grimms Fairytales to cover for the pervasiveness of violence in our media and its effect on young minds. I think y'all know that's a fatuous argument. You want to have your cake and eat it too, stop it. Of course we can't legally force people to not make these movies, there are too many other problems with suppressing free expression, that's an even worse slippery slope. Parents should be more careful with what they allow their children to see, but as with everything else, people are only getting dumber and lazier, and so are parents with raising their kids. And that's all apart of the slow decay...the kid's parents saw Evil Dead when they were a bit too young, they turned out "fine" enough, so they are more okay with letting this or that slip into their children's minds without a second thought. It's a social decay that works over the course of hundreds of years and works on a subconscious level. Again, you all know this to true, you are making selfish arguments because you're afraid of Puritans taking away your favorite toys, regardless of how dangerous those toys are for human civilization in the long run.

Evil dead is my favourite horror film. In fact this was the UK which caused to succeed this film. Sam Raimi is one of the biggest directors around the world .But remember “being British is a big pride. If the UK didn’t exist, many of the countries weren’t breathing.

I like horror but not a fan of gore movies or exploitation movies… but I know people who like , and deliberately seek out, the most “fucked up” the most extreme, explicit films they can see…and not one of them if violent, not one of them owns a gun or any weapons, not one of them has ever been convicted of assaulting or hurting or torturing or raping anyone…they’re just normal people with extreme tastes, family men with sweet kids, softies with Michael myers tattoos…

Mate, if these can get into the hands of children once they’re in someone’s home, that’s the parents responsibility, the same parent that can make their own choice about what they want to see-

Those who are fans of Evil Dead and Sam Raimii should search Incredibly Strange Picture Show, where a younger Sam Ramii talks extensively about the idea, production and success of Evil Dead. I used that interview in English lessons overseas, firstly because he speaks very clearly, he speaks articulately, he answers the questions directly with simple language and above all else it’s an amazing story of determination and perseverance. I think I would have given up long before he did. It’s a great interview and an inspiring story.

This was great to see. I just wanted Sam to point out the influence of The Three Stooges on him and that, really, the "horror" in his films are just Three Stooges routines with a little more blood thrown in. I think I liked the big guy the best from the audience.
